Role Description: Consists of crop monitoring to enable pest, weed, and nutritional management decisions throughout the growing season. Includes nitrate and tissue sampling at critical points in the growing season along with field mapping. You will be continuously troubleshooting field issues on the go such as insects, disease, and nutrient deficiencies. You will collect and log observations on a mobile platform to establish long-term farm/field history. All systems are digital and mobile and require knowledge of data management. Tissue, nitrate, and soil sampling will be involved. Longer hours are required during peak season(June). We offer competitive wages along with extensive training and coaching. A longer work term is possible for the right candidate.
Competencies: Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail are required. Must possess an ability to think critically to solve problems independently. Applicants must be self-motivated to achieve excellence. Computer aptitude is essential. Skills in crop diagnostics are an asset. Candidates must be a self-starter with a willingness to embrace hands-on tasks. You must be able to work independently under time-sensitive priorities.
Education and Experience: Seeking applicants who are studying in Agronomy, Plant Science, Soil Science, Biological Science, or Environmental Science or have crop production experience. Must have a valid G Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
