#plant16 has begun!

Newsletter Vol. 1 2016

#plant16 has begun! Here at Agronomy Advantage we have hit the ground running with our Interns: some new faces and some returning!

Genna Wright comes from a dairy and cash crop farm near Kenilworth. She just finished her first year at the University of Guelph in Agriculture Science. Genna is actively involved in many 4-H clubs and enjoys playing ringette.

Felicity Halbert is also attending the University of Guelph in Agriculture Science. She was born and raised on a sheep farm and is currently building her own farm north of Shelburne. Felicity has completed her third year at the University of Guelph.

Dennis Coffey is attending the University of Guelph in the Food and Agricultural Business program. He enjoys helping out on his parents dairy and cash crop farm near Arthur. He also enjoys playing and watching hockey and lacrosse.

​Kristen Williams is back for her second season with Agronomy Advantage. She has just completed her 4th year in Honours Agriculture at the University of Guelph.​ Kristen lives and works on a dairy farm outside of Caledon. She enjoys attending dairy shows and herding dog trials. Kristen is working on an Independent Study credit researching soil nitrate levels across different soil types and crop rotations throughout the growing season using a 360 SoilScan device.

Jamie Reich is returning for her third season with us. She has just completed her 4th year at the University of Guelph in BSc Ag program majoring in Crop Science. She grew up in the Alliston area. She has passed the written exams for CCA Certification this spring. Jamie will be working on an Independent Study credit researching bait traps and wireworms this summer and fall.

We welcome these folks to our team for the growing season. Please say hi as you meet up with them in your fields.
